The annual P.S. 91x Character Parade brought ear to ear smiles to students, staff members, and parents' faces this past Friday, October 27th, 2017. Children from Kindergarten to Second grade meticulously created their own hats, masks, and costumes with their teachers prior to the parade.

Each class celebrated their favorite characters from a book of their choosing. Characters from popular books such as The Cat in the Hat, Pirate Polly, Happy Pig Day, I am Invited to a Party, Bunny Cakes, Skippyjon Jones in the Doghouse, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, and even Marvel superhero comic-books where celebrated during the colorful parade.

The upper grade teachers and students joined in the fun. J.K. Rowling would be proud.

Students and teachers in the upper grades (third to fifth grade classes) joined the festivities by lining up in single file lines outside of their classrooms. They clapped, cheered, and "high-fived" their younger peers as they filled the hallways with their vibrant garments. After parading inside the school, students marched around the school for their cheerful parents  to see.

Students and teachers took to the streets as parents marveled at the ingenious hats, masks, and costumes.
