Kindergarteners visit Museum of Natural History!
Connected to the Learning Process: Kindergarten takes on the Museum of Natural History
By Ms. Beccia, P.S. 91x
Over the past few weeks, the Kindergarteners at P.S. 91 have been studying different Native American tribes, focusing on their environments, clothing, food and shelters. As the unit concluded, students saw their learning come to life at the Museum of Natural History. Teachers and parent volunteers led students around various exhibits that displayed Native American artifacts and reconstructed scenes. It was particularly exciting to hear students use the vocabulary they learned when viewing the exhibits: Look at the tipi! Check out this wetu! Those are such pretty moccasins!
Please look at some snapshots from the trip to the museum. Enjoy!
