Joshua Bell visits the P.S. 91x Orchestra!
By Ms. Raymond, P.S. 91x
The orchestra had another successful performance on March 22 for the illustrious Mr. Joshua Bell. Joshua Bell, an internationally acclaimed violinist, has been playing the violin since the age of four. He has played with some spectacular musicians such as Sting, Joshua Groban, and Gloria Estefan. He even had the opportunity to play for Barack Obama.
When Mr. Bell entered the auditorium, the students where filled with excitement. The show began moments later when the orchestra started playing "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star." For the rest of the show Mr. Bell offered some excellent advice and worked with Ms. Raymond to improve the orchestra's tone quality.
At the end of the performance, students asked Mr. Bell various questions about his career. They asked brilliant, thought-provoking questions such as "Who is your idol?", "What can I do to become a better musician?" and "How can being a musician make me a better leader?" Overall, this performance was a huge success for the orchestra. The orchestra's next performance will be in May and we look forward to seeing you there!
