2nd Annual Breakfast with the Orchestra Rocks P.S. 91X!
By Ms. Raymond, P.S. 91X
On January 25th, the P.S. 91 Junior and Senior Orchestras took center stage with their debut performance of the school year. The Junior Orchestra consisting of 61 fourth graders amazed the audience with their ability to perform section by section, showing off the unique timbre of each instrument within the orchestra. They finished off their performance with the familiar melody “Mary Had a Little Lamb.”
Immediately following their performance, the Senior Orchestra consisting of 54 fifth grade students, took the stage and wowed the audience with their cohesive sound. Altogether both orchestras brought their A-game, performing for a jam-packed auditorium. The turn out for this performance was by far the biggest that we’ve seen at P.S. 91! The real highlight of the show was when the fourth and fifth grade students came together to perform a captivating rendition of “Le Freak” by Chic.
After a riveting show, the Orchestra members, accompanied by their families, were able to enjoy a celebratory breakfast in the cafeteria. Stay tuned! The P.S. 91 orchestras will be performing again in June and it is sure to be another show stopping performance!
